Stephen Akinmurele

Stephen Akinmurele’s name remains etched in the darker corners of British criminal history—not for the scale of his crimes, but for the disturbing psychological profile that accompanied them. Arrested in 1998 for the brutal murders of elderly victims, Akinmurele confessed to multiple killings, some of which investigators believed were fabricated to mask his true motives. Despite being placed under suicide watch following two prior attempts and warnings from his girlfriend, Akinmurele managed to take his own life in Manchester Prison in August 1999.
